Experienced Telco program & project manager with a track record in Network(FTTH and HFC) Engineering, IT and business.
I'm specialized in the area of product development and the transition of technical developments to (technical & business) operations. I have been engaged by VP's, creatives, product managers, innovation managers & marketeers.
Innovative and goal-oriented Management professional committed to [Area of expertise]. Dedicated team player skilled at mediation and conflict resolution. Drives company growth through innovation.
Organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals.
Deutsche Glasfaser is a major player in FTTH in Germany, customer base exceeding 5M. Germany is far from being a saturated FTTH-market, hence construction is a prioritized domain of capex assignment. The dependency of external construction partners is the key topic.
This low maturity aside, programs have started to 'try innovation' to prepare for the next phases in Network Engineering and Customer Operations.
I have been responsible for end-to-end design and delivery of various pilots within the DG footprint that are driven by technological innovation but whose impact on customer acceptance and experience must be tested in practice.
In concrete terms, these innovations intervene
- in the engineering domain (testing of new grid concepts)
- in the operational domain (innovation in fulfillment)
- in the HR domain (Academy Trainees & Partners | standardization of skills and output)
To do so I established strong relationships with key stakeholders (up to C-level), ensuring support for program initiatives. I built and managed strong cross-functional teams for successful project completion within deadlines and budgets. Took care of risk and dependency management.
Assumed mentor position for junior and medior project managers
VodafoneZiggo is the OpCo of LibertyGlobal for the dutch market, and the largest local HFC-operator. VodafoneZiggo is a top brand in the Netherlands, and its Docsis Fixed Network is of the highest quality. In this context I assumed various project and program roles
Program manager Distributed Access Architecture (DAA, 2023)
The HFC-network is transitioning to a more IP-driven engineering concept. DAA entails supplier selection, redesign or phaseout of network elements (Core and CMTS) and delivery of new elements like Video Core, vCCAP and RPD.
Managing this transition takes an approach differing from simply delivering scope- the strategic objectives and long term roadmap requires management of requirements, RFPI/RFP-processes with suppliers like Harmonic, Casa and Commscope, management of decision making (VP-Level), alignment within all stakeholders (including externally in LibertyGlobal). Next to these specific responsibilities of course this role required day-to-day program operations, progress reporting, budget control, risk management etc.
Project manager Passive-DWDM (PDWDM 2022)
P-DWDM is a solution that has several applications, one of which being to have (B2B-) customers share bandwidth in the last mile of the access network. This project has some customer impact and required an End-To-End approach combining the specific technical delivery of POP and Hub modifications with proper customer communications. This project resulted in the creation of a new building block that allowed VodafoneZiggo to drastically increase their upsells in P-DWDM areas previously congested.
Product Owner CPE & InHome Engineering (2021)
Historically VodafoneZiggo have deployed a multi-vendorship in CPE selection. Throughout the VF-footprint an amalgam of CPE brands and types all aligned in the Docsis protocol need to be operated, maintained and kept in change control. This role was to coordinate both delivery and change control and customer operations and feedback. The approach to delivery is to move from Engineering Testing to Technical and Operational Field Trials. Usually with some degree of Friendly User Testing involved. This role entails bringing together Access and CPE Engineering with Customer Operations, and the usual responsibilities like reporting, budget control, risk management etc.
Several projects concurrently but the major one being:
Responsible for a widespread IT Security driven program aimed at delivering the outsourcing of IT and Network Service Operations to third parties. This program is staffed with 2 PM's and 2 BA's but is supported by ~50 indirect reports in areas like Application Management, Infrastructure & Connectivity Management, Data Centers, IT & Network Architecture etc. Main focus for me as Program Manager is stakeholder- as well as project team management which is to be upheld in a highly political environment. The program has touchpoints throughout all of the IT landscape and is built on requirements in domains like:
- Privilege Access Management (using Cyberark)
- Identity Access Management (joiners/leavers processes)
- Software Lifecycle Management (EOL/phase out strategies)
- Data Protection (online/offline backup strategies)
- Malware Defenses (Microsoft SCCM patching & EOL policies)
- Data Leak Prevention (mainly using Microsoft O365 capabilities)
- Network Access Control & Network Segregation & Segmentation
Managing projects within two major In-Home Connectivity program's, Global Delivery Organization. By definition customer facing, developing and delivering new and exciting improvements to the internet experience, on various (vendor-)platforms. Catchwords:
