  • Context: As CFO of Covestro Netherlands and Board member of Covestro Netherlands BV, I led the establishment of the full CFO function following the global integration of DSM Resins, managing operations across seven locations with €800M revenue and >700 FTE. Also served as Site Manager of Covestro Geleen, amongst others overseeing the exit of the Solar Business.
  • Built and staffed a new CFO organization, including accounting, tax, controlling and finance (12 FTE). Strengthened operational processes and compliance, ensuring seamless integration globally;
  • Successfully disentangled legal entities including mergers and liquidations, resolving a multi-year backlog of financial statements and tax filings in close collaboration with the financial auditors and fiscal authorities;
  • Successfully drove the “Sense of Belonging” initiative at Covestro Netherlands, aligning the local workforce with the global Covestro strategy and values, fostering deeper engagement and connection to the organization’s vision and culture;

  • Context: As Finance & Control Director for the Energy Curable Resins business unit (revenue €200M, > 350 FTE, seven global locations), I led its integration into DSM while enhancing profitability. Following the acquisition of DSM Resins by Covestro, I continued driving transformation under the new employer. Board member of Japan Fine Coatings & Covestro/DSM Taiwan.
  • Managed finance, treasury, accounting, IT, legal, and control functions with a team of 14 (6 direct reports);
  • Transformed team dynamics, expanding work scope, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and enhancing accountability;
  • Optimized the asset base by leading the sale and rent-back of a production site and the sale of a former site, unlocking capital for strategic investments;
  • Next to the sale of two sites in Taiwan (asset and share deals), actively supporting multiple M&A projects, evaluating and negotiating deals to strengthen the ECS business, and serving as the key liaison between business, legal, and financial teams to optimize outcomes and drive results;
  • Initiated and established a new R&D lab collaboration with National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, successfully negotiating a public-private partnership that delivered mutual benefits for both parties;
  • Successfully navigated organizational and operational transitions during the acquisition by Covestro.
