Work history

English teacher

Gareth's School, Poland
Kielce, Poland
08.2025 - 12.2025
  • As part of my experience with Gareth's School, I delivered engaging and effective English language instruction to approximately 270 students a week from ages as young as 4 to a class of adults 18+ across a variety of educational settings, including an English language school, public schools, private schools, as well as two primary schools in two villages near the city of Kielce.
  • I needed to adapt my teaching methods to suit such a diverse group of ages and ability levels. I maintained an engaging approach through the use of physicality wherever possible and using/creating games that can help teach English to Polish children.
  • By trying to maintain a learner-based approach with a strong focus on progress and engagement, I achieved an 87% "completely satisfied" rating from pupils all pupils I taught through Gareth's school and 11% "mostly happy" with my work, reflecting high teaching quality and positive learning outcomes.

Primary Teacher

Glebelands Primary School
Dundee, Dundee City
08.2024 - 07.2025

At Glebelands Primary School I completed my Newly Qualified Teaching (NQT) year teaching a Primary 2 class.

  • As a Primary 2 Teacher, I strove to plan and deliver lessons that were entertaining as well engaging all while ensuring that these "learning experiences" were in line with Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence and the GTCS' Standards for Provisional Registration.
  • I also made sure to develop and maintain school wide "signals" to help create a classroom that was as safe as it was nurturing and inclusive for each child.
  • Due to leading a classroom of 30 P2's (Age 6-7) there was a wide gap of confidence and necessary support for the beginning of First Level Maths and Literacy. I would ensure that plans were differentiated to ensure that each pupil was able to access the support they needed to thrive.
  • As an NQT I received extra RCT (Reduced Contact Time) which I would observe other teachers in both my school and around the city of Dundee.
  • I engaged in professional reflection, discussing challenges and successes with my Mentor. I also used the "Seesaw" app to send videos, pictures and messages to families 2-3 times a week to help parents stay engaged with their children.
  • Whenever possible I would take time at the end of the school day to speak to a parent to discuss their child's progress at school which further encourages parental involvement.
