My Strengths
I love to solve problems. Whereas some are dismayed when others encounter yet another breakdown, I can be energized by it. I enjoy the challenge of analyzing the characteristics, identifying what is wrong, and finding the solution.
I can feel the emotions of those around me. I can feel what they are feeling as though their feelings are my own. Intuitively, I’m able to see the world through their eyes and share their perspective. I do not necessarily agree with each person’s perspective, nor I feel pity for each person’s predicament. I do not specifically condone the choices each person makes, but I do understand. This instinctive ability to understand is powerful so I can anticipate the need. Where others grapple for words, I feel I can find the right words and the right tone.
My individualization theme leads me to be intrigued by the unique qualities of each person. I’m impatient with generalizations or “types” because I don’t want to obscure what is special and distinct about each person. Instead, I focus on the differences between individuals. I instinctively observe each person’s style, each person’s motivation, how each thinks, and how each builds relationships. I hear the one-of-a-kind stories in each person’s life.
I like to learn. The subject matter that interests me most will be determined by my other themes and experiences, but whatever the subject, I will always be drawn to the process of learning. The process, more than the content or the result, is especially exciting for me. I’m energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. The thrill of the first few facts, the early efforts to recite or practice what I have learned, the growing confidence of a skill mastered.
