Project: Identification of Risk Factors in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
Project duration: 1 year
Details:
- In this study NPM1 promoter methylation was analyzed and correlated with certain morphological features.
- For this certain risk factors were evaluated and showed that AML did not vary according to age and gender but genetic diseases, experimental and dietary factors caused epigenetic changes in the AML patients.
- DNA extraction was optimized by various methods and parameters for this best method were found to be modified the protocol of DNA extraction mini- kit.
- Certain parameters such as increased in the volume of Proteinase K, increase in the volume of the elution buffer, reduced buffer time had a significant effect on the DNA yield.
- Promoter methylation was found to be most common in people less than 45 years old.
