Mark Dissel is a Software Engineer with four years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in HBO-ICT, specializing in Software Engineering. His passion for tech began early, at just eight years old, he borrowed HTML for Dummies from the local library, driven by a curiosity that still defines him today. Since graduating in 2021, Mark has worked on projects in IT consultancy, finance, and e-commerce, where he built cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs within Agile Scrum teams.
In the Community Market R&D project, Mark contributed to a microservice-based backend using Java and Spring, developed REST interfaces, and helped automate deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps. He also participated in integration testing and applied tools like Docker and Kubernetes to ensure scalable, secure delivery. His role extended beyond code, he actively collaborated with testers, product owners, and designers to ensure alignment across the team.
In the financial sector, Mark built a Laravel-based application for investment analysis and created a custom Chrome extension for data scraping, storing the data in MySQL and using clustering techniques in Python to build a Customer Lifetime Value model. These multidisciplinary projects reflect his versatility and eagerness to explore the broader landscape of software development.
Mark is a pragmatic, communicative team player who enjoys bringing people together and connecting business needs with technical solutions. He thrives in collaborative environments where ownership, quality, and continuous learning are valued. His core skills include Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, Angular, Docker, Git, and DevOps tooling.
