I am a 28 year old kiwi living in Amsterdam. I immigrated here four years ago. I am an invested Social Worker dedicated to forming trusting relationships and advocating for the best interest of clients. I have diverse work experience spanning across working with refugees, undocumented migrants, in mental health and have worked in family environments. I am a respectful and compassionate professional serving the community by providing guidance for clients in need.
There are seven different shelters for undocumented migrants in Amsterdam funded by the government and are care coordinated by HVO. The shelters provide in house care, guidance and support. I have had the pleasure of working in four of the different shelters to gain a wide range experience and now I have been deployed permanently to the location with clients that have the highest needs in terms of mental health and physical health problems. My third year internship I had the privilege of working alongside Dame Catherine Healy a Sex Worker rights activist who worked towards the decriminalization of sex work in New Zealand, and is the founder of the New Zealand Prostitutes Collective. This gave me the opportunity to gain work experience in a unique environment with a diverse population. Duties included:
Prior to and during my years of full time study I worked on and off I worked as a private household nanny for several different families.
