Summary

Experienced Sustainability leader with 10 years of business and corporate CPG experience, currently leading the Sustainable in a Generation program for the Global Mars Food & Nutrition division. In this role I am supported by a cross-functional team (Marketing, Corporate Affairs, R&D, Procurement and Supply) to advance towards the 'Sustainable in a Generation' vision. Mars is one of the leading CPG businesses by taking action to eliminate plastic waste and reach scope 1-3 Net zero emissions.

My educational background can be found in Environmental & Natural Science with two master degrees specializing in Sustainable Water, Land and business management. I am characterized as a purpose driven, results orientated, empathetic leader with infectious energy.

Global Sustainability Lead

  • Defined, communicated and implemented holistic business Sustainability strategy covering Packaging, Climate, Water and land use.
  • Global owner of Sustainability data reporting (internal and External) by focusing on enrichment, governance and maintenance. Managing global data custodian (1 FTE)
  • Built direct long-term relationships with Global Senior leaders consisting out of Corporate, Marketing, R&D and Supply chain senior executives.
  • Experienced program manager, demonstrating ability to work collaboratively and effectively.
  • Managing cross functional senior expert group of 10+ associates
  • Developed forecast and +5 year Sustainability budget with yearly spend of +$25m dollar, signed of by the business
  • Met with retailers to understand business strategies, priorities and needs as well as anticipated forthcoming business opportunities.
  • Assessed and proposed sustainability initiatives by considering cost-effectiveness, technical feasibility and acceptance of full supply chain (including R&D, Supply, Sourcing and GM's).

  • Created and managed a team of 8 Packaging Developers to support growth of the Seasonal & Gifting category in EU (+1 billion dollar category for Mars).
  • Key member of EMEA R&D leadership team, co-developing strategy to win in EMEA

  • Initiated award winning plastic free concept for Seasonal range, driving sustainability agenda in early days

  • Year 1 focused on business process optimization to enable faster to market innovations starting from R&D innovation till in market execution.
  • Year 2 Worked as an expat in Strasbourg in our largest M&M's factory globally. As a Q&FS lead I was responsible for daily quality operations, leading a team of operators. Rapid French language and culture education and was key to integrate successfully and deliver project.
  • Year 3 Received Line management responsibility over Regional cross-segment Compliance team, existing out of six legal text associates. This role required close associate performance management, recruitment and problem management skills.
