Senior Strategy advisor for Shell's NWE assets across Refinering and Chemicals. This includes 4 Chemicals sites (Moerdijk, Pernis, Rheinland and FEP) and 4 Refineries (Pernis, Rheinland, PCK and MiRO).

Achievements:

• Strategic studies for assets - outlook, projects and portfolio actions.
• Rheinland Transformation, incl. Shell-LYB renegotiated supply and offtake contracts
• Several divestment projects.
• Influencing EU regulation for improved industry conditions wrt decarbonization

Team lead of a group of people (7-9) that were responsible for the d2d and tactical economic optimization of Pernis assets, both oil and chemicals, and Moerdijk Steamcracker.
Key focus on driving value from these assets through integration with external business partners (Crude and Product Trading, Specialities, Chemicals) and internal stakeholders (Technology, Operations, Site leadership).

Highlights:

• Integration and driving value from major growth capital investments Pernis: Benzene
• Heartcut Splitter (early 2014) and SDA (2018).
• Exponential growth of Trading integration value through organic growth, e.g. providing optionality to Trading, release of refinery constraints and small logistic projects, improving the Pernis Oil margin generation one full Solomon quarter (from Q3/Q2 to Q2/Q1).
• Startup of Bitumen production
• Setup Pernis exposure management (global pathfinder)
• Readying Pernis for IMO volatility – investing in flexibility on LSFO and Bitumen.
• Driving MLO feedstock growth funnel: release of naphtha constraints, condensate cracking, additional butane cracking.
• 2018: one of the top performers in Shell People Survey results. Awarded with IMD course on Strategy Execution.

Team lead of a group of people (8) with responsibility for the overall coordination of the forward month and in-month product supply planning activity in the Rhine area.

Key focus on integrated margin optimization in an environment with 4 complex refineries, multi mode logistics (pipeline, barge, trains, trucks), various product channels (Shell Trading Rotterdam, Commercial, Retail, Aviation, Shell Marine Products, Chemicals) all within 5 separate countries and multiple legal entities.
